Dr. Roybal has been practicing bio-compatible, safe general and cosmetic dentistry for over twenty-six years. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and
Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry at the University of New Mexico in 1982 and went on to receive his dental degree from the University of Missouri/Kansas City. There he was elected President of the American Student Dental Association for three years in a row and also received the National Chicano Health Organization Scholarship Award.
While receiving his education he provided dental care for the inmates at Fort Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary, and the local Kansas City County Jail. He also provided dental care for children at Children’s Mercy Hospital. In 1986, he enlisted as a First Lt. in the Medical Corp. of the US Army and worked both domestically and in Europe where he served as their youngest medical officer. After returning back to New Mexico he continued to serve as medical officer for the New Mexico National Guard.
Dr. Roybal has enormous history in building both his private practice, GABRIEL ROYBAL DDS established in Santa Fe, New Mexico, sponsoring NORTHSIDE DENTAL CLINIC a low cost dental clinic for the underserved in the local community, and ORAL HYGIENE PLUS a progressive hygiene practice offering advanced dental medicine, surgical clearance, Oral DNA analysis and more.
One can only wonder how he has time to donate his services to the underprivileged. In addition to flying to remote parts of Mexico and providing care for desperate families, he has helped countless thousands of people locally and abroad including adopting over 70 Santa Fe United Way families that he provides free dental care to.
